New Paper “Problem Specific Classical Optimization of Hamiltonian Simulation” published in Physical Review Research
We are glad to announce that our paper on “Problem Specific Classical Optimization of Hamiltonian Simulation” has been published in Physical Review Research. In our paper, we introduce a variational algorithm for Hamiltonian simulation. As quantum optimization faces fundamental problem when performed on a quantum machine, we studied optimization on a classical computer. As opposed to prior work, the presented algorithm is applicable to any local Hamiltonian and does not require symmetry constraints. The authors show that Trotter sequences can always be improved and support previous numerical results on the scaling of the error in system size and simulation time.
