Postdoctoral Research Positions in Theory of Quantum Technologies and Quantum Dynamics at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg.

The newly founded Quantum Technology and Quantum Dynamics Theory group at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, lead by Professor Michael J. Hartmann invites applications for one or more postdoctoral researcher positions. We are looking for candidates who are interested in one or a combination of the following:

  • theory of superconducting circuits,
  • quantum many-body dynamics
  • algorithms and applications for near term quantum computers.
  • machine learning and quantum machine learning

To apply, please send your cv, publication list and a one page research statement. Please also arrange for letters of recommendation to be submitted independently from two scientists familiar with your work.

For enquiries pease email me: hartmann.mj@gmail.com

Applications and supporting material should be sent to hartmann.mj@gmail.com by April 28, 2019. Later applications by exceptionally strong candidates may also be considered. The appointments will initially be for 12 month and can be extended to up to 36 month.

One position will be part of the newly funded FET-open project “Neuromrophic Quantum Computing”, see https://cordis.europa.eu/project/rcn/220561/factsheet/en, and explore implementations of quantum machine learning in superconducting qubits.
